I'm sharing this here instead of
bukibeat because this isn't a personal rip, heh. (Although, I'm
adding the album to my
wishlist, hint hint!)
Anywho -
BALLAS HOUGH BAND! I needed to pull myself from the ridiculousness of K-Pop for a while, and found this fun pop group. I am very biased and admit that I started listening to them because the lead vocalists and guitarists are
Mark Ballas and
Derek Hough (♥) from
Dancing with the Stars. The band's other members are Sam Marder (bass guitar), Harry Sullivan (drums) and Emily Grace (keyboards, background vocals). I love Emily's voice and wish she was more predominant in the songs.
I like to describe BHB as a
diet version of SongsAboutJane!Maroon5 XD Most of their songs are light and upbeat, though a couple do have a harder rock sound and emotional background. Their debut song was
"Do It For You" which is easily a favorite. My personal loves from the album are
"Longing For" and
"Closer", both slower tempo ballads.
They recently performed their new single
"Move" on DWTS, but I have no idea why they decided to go into the techno-dance genre. Quite almost a big facepalm :\ UGH AUTOTUNE, WHYYYYYY. We already know they can dance - I prefer them rocking it out on their instruments! (Check behind the cut later for some lives :D)
